Continuous Innovation: The Review Conference of the 3rd Mingyuan Cup International Home Textile Creative Design Competition Successfully Held

On July 13, the judging of the participating works for the 3rd PHF Cup International Home Textile Creative Design Competition was held in Qingdao, Shandong. After strict screening and discussion by the judging panel of the competition, the winning works were selected. The list of winning works will be announced during the award ceremony, and the organizing committee will also hold an award ceremony in August and arrange subsequent exhibitions of the winning works.

The competition is jointly organized by the China Textile & Apparel Education Association, the China Chamber of Textiles and Apparel Imports and Exports, and PHF Home Fashion Creative Center, a national pilot park for textile and apparel creative design.

On the morning of July 13, the organizing committee organized an on-site preparatory meeting for the judges, which was presided over by Mao Linghe, director of the Department of Clothing and Costume Design at Qingdao University's College of Textiles and Clothing.

Yu Yongming, member of the Party Standing Committee and vice president of Qingdao University, delivered a speech. He said that this creative design competition focuses on design creativity, combines art with practicality, intersects creativity with demand, and integrates the intellectual and talent support of colleges and enterprises. It will surely be a feast of creative fashion and is of great significance for accelerating the deep integration of industry, education and research, promoting the reform of education and teaching, and advancing the innovative development of China's textile products.

It is understood that since its opening in March, the organizing committee of the 3rd PHF Cup International Home Textile Creative Design Competition has received 2,810 entries, an increase of 25% compared to the second edition. The total number of participants reached 1,920, an increase of 32% compared to the second edition. Both the number of entries and the total number of participants have reached new highs for three consecutive years, and the influence of the competition in the domestic and international home textile industry is growing with each passing day.

The participants of this competition mainly consist of students from the design majors of 79 domestic and foreign institutions of higher learning, including Tsinghua University, Qingdao University, Zhongyuan Institute of Technology, Shandong University of Art and Design, Wuhan Textile University, Donghua University, Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, Tianjin Institute of Fine Arts, Lu Xun Institute of Fine Arts, Brest Business School, etc., as well as some independent designers and practicing designers.

During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, with the gradual establishment of China's fashion research and development leading mechanism, the original design capabilities of China's home textile fashion industry, represented by Yantai PHF Creative Life, have been significantly strengthened, pushing the home textile industry to a new level.

This is the third time that PHF has held a creative design competition. Chen Yizhong, chairman of Yantai PHF Creative Life Technology Co., Ltd., used four sentences to elaborate his original intention for holding the competition: "guiding international fashion, landing school-enterprise cooperation, advancing internship and practice, and sharing creative platforms."

As an influential event both at home and abroad, the PHF Cup International Home Textile Creative Design Competition has always followed the principle of "professionalism, innovation, and internationalization" since its establishment. It strengthens the unique and deep cooperation and exchange between enterprises and universities, connects high-quality educational and industrial resources at home and abroad, creates a new model of collaborative design research between schools and enterprises, and continuously contributes to the high-quality innovation of China's home textile industry under the new development pattern.
